it was on my radar but didn't remember to RSVP until yesterday. wish i would have remembered to share (work kept me busy/distracted).
there were a few more panelists than the list mentioned above, like Matt "The Smoking Tire" Farah . it was an interesting event, hearing about their backgrounds and the behind-the-scenes of their endeavors.
what's GRC? (oh - Global Rallycross) See, I didn't know about that event!
PS: Japanese Classic Car Show at the Queen Mary next week. I'll try to remember to post a flyer next week...

yeah, Matt's comments were the most honest/candid about the realities of trying to make money in the YouTube age.
re: Japanese Car Show... yes, beauty queens of various ages, for sure:

Ah this is great man, thank you, going to listen to it right now!
So clearly you're local to LA, what do you drive? Ever go to any of the area meets?

yeah, L.A. is my casa. I regularly go to Supercar Sunday for their big first-Sunday-of-the-month gathering, but mostly as a spectator. I also try to make the monthly "Breakfast Club" cruise-in at the Petersen (the last one before the big remodel is coming up - Oct 19!). And I often stop by the Friday night gathering at Bob's Big Boy in Toluca Lake (Burbank) since I work nearby.
Then I keep tabs on big car shows, like the two happening this Saturday: big show in Costa Mesa and the Classic Japanese show in Long Beach as I mentioned earlier. Also, the Art Center Car Classic next month is cream-of-the-crop stuff, like Leno's McLaren F1 and 1961 Corvette Mako Shark present at last year's event - I HIGHLY recommend this event.
I drive a 3rd gen Corvette ("Stingray" to some, 'shark body' to others).
...and yourself?

Damn, I thought I was pretty plugged into the scene with SCS and the Big Boy meet but I've got to make the "Breakfast Club" happen. Oct 19th is our wrap day for a shoot starting next Sunday though so it's unlikely I'll make that one.
I might make it down to the Japanese show this weekend after all as I had to cancel my road trip due to another journalist crashing the ZL1 I was to be loaned.
Art Center Car Classic looks great, just sent in a press credential request so thanks for the heads up on that.
I drive a B7 S4 Avant. It's my first German car, one I've lusted after for a long time.

so Petersen tweeted this morning that tomorrow is the last breakfast club cruise before the remodel closure. I guess i know what i'm doing tomorrow for breakfast. if you go, make sure you get a food ticket from the lady at the parking gate for FREE PANCAKES and coffee.
October 19 will probably be some big event as it's the last day before the remodel.
re: B7 S4 Avant... very cool, i love hot wagons, er, "estates". when my wife was looking to step up to the German car plate I was trying to steer her in the direction of the A3 wagon. she ended up in a 3-series sedan. oh well. (though i picked one with the sport package, which i can confirm makes it quite a fast beast)

Ah I should have checked Jalopnik BEFORE I made breakfast and coffee!
I certainly plan to get to whatever big event they end up having on the 19th, I bet it's going to be something great.
A3 hatches are best in TDI form, other than that, not so great. I see more of them in the shop than B5 A4 avants and that's saying something.
Did you get her in a "Jalop" edition 3-Series? M-Sport pkg on a 320i w/manual?

It was a nice turnout. some special rides for sure - i'll have to make time to post pics soon. i got there about a minute after they finished serving pancakes, but they gave me coffee and juice so no one had to die.
i think it's potentially Jalop-worthy... 328i w/ sport package, paddle shifters (my compromise - she's not into a manual as a DD but she does want to learn), classy brown leather interior, 150+ mph top speed (don't ask me how i know)
